- Solution temperature – 65 to 95F (16 to 32°C)
- Solution pH – 11,0 to 11,4
- Immersion time – 1⁄4 to several hours, depending on type and degree of soiling.
NOTE: When FORMULA 555 bath is allowed to operate below 16°C there is some loss of cleaning efficiency in common with other products of this type.
METHOD: Use the following method to clean parts in FORMULA 555:
- Disassemble all parts. Remove gaskets, packing, rubber, elastomeric and leather.
NOTE: FORMULA 555 attacks organic materials such as paint, natural rubber, synthetic rubber and silicone. - Immerse parts in lower layer of FORMULA 555 bath until carbon and soil are thoroughly softened and loosened.
NOTE: Make certain that all parts are completely immersed in the solvent layer. - Portions of parts that extend into the water seal are not satisfactorily cleaned and may be subject to corrosive attack. Also, do not agitate bath or parts.
- Remove parts, allowing solution to drain back into pail or tank.
- Rinse parts in a stream of cold water under pressure. A rust-retarding solvent rinse is recommended when parts are not to be processed immediately.
